His unlikely help: the man's daughter—the very woman Jack had once wooed and betrayed.Lady Tess Fonteneau knows more about the fine art of clandestine activities—and about the mysterious Mr. Blackthorn—than he realizes. As their journey leads them on the adventure of a lifetime, their reunion is fraught with passion, high-stakes danger and the one twist of fate Jack never saw coming….
I loved the previous books from the Blackthorn Brothers series and I was really waiting for Jack's book. He had a lot tell, an this book probably answer all of the questions.

Tess and Jack were in love a couple of years ago, but after an accident in which her brother was murdered, they separated. But now they are together again, and their attraction hasn't disappear. But can they forgive each other?

They just had to decide to stop hurting each other and work together, and now they have a very good reason to do it. But between their romance, it's the story of Tess's father, a manipulative and evil man who doesn't care about using his own family to get what he wants.

I liked Tess and Jack, but this book was more about them figuring out their past and the people who just want to hurt them. Tess's father wasn't the man she thought, and his story is connected with Jack not only because he was his mentor, but also because their is a connection with his mother.

I wasn't expecting more story about Jack's mother. I just thought his parents were secondary and I was surprised to found out their 'real story'. But I didn't care much about Tess family story...and the first half of the book was about it, so I was kind of getting bored.

Overall, I did enjoy Jack's story and I am happy and surprised for the happy ending for all of the brothers, but I was expecting something a little bit more romantic. But, Jack and his brothers are fantastic protagonists, and I'm glad I read this series.

  1. Hmm, hoping for something a bit more romantic? That sucks it was lacking some in that area. :/ But I admit I'm definitely curious about Jack and his brothers! Glad you enjoyed it overall and it was a happy ending:)
